Waste Connection customers in Vermilion, Acadia and Iberia parishes will not have trash pickup due to the facility being located in the evacuation zone of a Duson plant, according to Jody LaFosse, administrative assistant for the company.
The trucks are located within a mile of Flow-Chem Technologies where chemicals exploded Thursday afternoon.
LaFosse says trash pickup will continue as soon as they are able to continue operation.

Officials with the Acadia Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness tell us that the fire started after xylene and flammable containers exploded.
