Crews are working an oil spill on highway 167 near Abbeville.
According to state police, this morning an oil truck traveling on 167 from Abbeville spilled an oily substance on "s curves" north of Abbeville near 167’s intersection with LA 699.
Troopers say there is oil on the roadway near that intersection as well as the LA 699 intersection with LA 343. There is also oil reported on the roadway on LA 343 northbound in the direction of Duson.
Travelers in that area are advised that crews will be on scene working to clean the spill.
LA 167 at 699 is closed along with LA 699 at 343.
