Scott Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Crowley woman wanted for writing checks on a closed account.

Rhonda Roy, 40, is accused of writing a check for about $300 to a Scott business on Friday, even though the account was closed. She’s also accused of trying to write another check on Monday, for about $200, but that time the check was refused, police said.

During the investigation, Scott Police Department was able to verify the account was closed and it was possible these checks have been used at other businesses in the Acadiana area. Roy allegedly provided false contact information to the merchants but did present her identification when making the purchases, police said.

Roy was seen entering a white sedan while leaving the parking lot. She is described as approximately 5’4, 125 lbs., brown hair, hazel eyes, thin build, with several sores on her face. Roy was also traveling with a heavy set blonde, white female and a tall, thin, black male.

Scott Police Department has obtained a warrant for her arrest.

If you see this person or know her whereabouts, please contact Scott Police Department at 337-233-3715 or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS. All callers can remain anonymous.
