St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Breaux Bridge man after a child in his care overdosed on medication.
Cody Guidroz, 29, was booked with one count cruelty to a juvenile.
Back in March, deputies were called following a report of a possible overdose by a two-year-old, a spokeswoman said. Detectives began an investigation and requested a warrant for Guidry. Detectives allege that the child was in Guidroz’s care when the child found and consumed the medication that led to the overdose, the spokeswoman said.
Guidroz remains in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and no bond has been set yet for his release.
