Acadia deputies looking for two sex offenders

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two sex offenders who allegedly failed to comply with the law, and are looking for two more. 

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit along with Louisiana Probation and Parole agents recently did home visits for 25 sex offenders living in the parish. The goal of these visits is to assure that offenders are complying with the requirements of law, a release from the sheriff states.

Four men were found to be out of compliance with registration requirements; two have been arrested and two more are still being sought. 

Sex offenders are required to notify law enforcement when they move and if they change jobs. 

 “Our goal is to assure the public that all offenders are fulfilling their requirements of release and that our citizens are as safe as possible," said Sheriff KP Gibson.

David Jones, 40 of Rayne and Quinarius LeBlanc, 28 of Church Point were both arrested. Jones was booked with failure to register and failure to provide community notification as a sex offender. LeBlanc was booked with failure to register. 

These men are wanted: 

Kevin Bias, 52 of Rayne. His last known address is 1808 Laurie Street Rayne, La.He was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2004. 

Daniel Hoffpauir, 61 of Crowley. His last known address is 1310 East Cedar Street in Crowley. He was convicted of sexual battery in 1985.

Both Bias and Hoffpauir are wanted for Failure to Register as a Tier I sex offender.
