A Kenner woman has died of injuries she received in a Friday afternoon crash, Louisiana State Police Troop B says.

Troopers were called to U.S. 61 near Windsor Street in St. John the Baptist Parish Friday at about 3 p.m to investigate a three-vehicle crash. Mayra Dominguez, 27, was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, and she died this morning at the hospital, troopers say.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Dominguez was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu north on US 61 in the right lane and, for unknown reasons, drove over a small raised median and crossed into the south bound lanes of US 61. The Malibu entered into the path of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 22 year old Jeremiah Young of Vacherie, which was traveling south in the left lane.  The Malibu was then struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 57 year old Tommy Lajaunie of Houma,  that was traveling south in the right lane.  Young and Lajaunie were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, it is unknown if speed and impairment are factors.  Seat belt usage is also unknown.  The crash remains under investigation.
