Representatives of the Autism Society is spreading awareness about the developmental disorder.
They held a presentation explaining what autism is to the students at Redemptorist Catholic in Crowley.
"For kids, I feel like anything that is different is a bit scary and sometimes, kids don’t know what to do with that fear," said Stephanie Krielow, Autism Society. "Sometimes, it results to bullying and I think if they understand more of what it is, they are more willing to accept and welcome kids with autism."
