Lafayette Consolidated Government says that Republic Services has been fined for the late and missed garbage collections in Lafayette Parish.
According to LCG, Republic Services received a $25 a day fine for each missed or late pickups at homes located within city limits and unincorporated parts of the parish. The company will pay $27,825 to LCG for late or missed pickups in February and another $22,000 for missed services in March.
The fines will be paid to LCG’s environmental Quality General Fund.
