The florographs of LOPA heroes, Christian Nelson and Kelly Theriot, were presented back to their families during a special ceremony today.

The completed, framed florographs that donned the Donate Life America float in the January 1, 2018 Rose Bowl Parade were presented to their families at the LOPA office this afternoon.

The florographs, made entirely of organic materials, were showcased on the Donate Life America float in front of 47 million viewers on New Year’s Day during the Rose Bowl Parade. LOPA sponsored family members of Christian and Kelly as they traveled to Pasadena to take part in Donate Life America float events, as well as the Rose Bowl Parade.

The event was part of LOPA’s continuing celebration of National Donate Life Month.

"We’ve met all five of his recipients. The last two, we’ve just found and met," said Julie Castile, Kelly’s mother. "This year has just been amazing for us. without LOPA, we wouldn’t be where we are today."

Kelly died six years ago, and saved the lives of five other people through organ donation.

Hans and Jen Nelson, Christian’s parents, lost their son five years ago, when he was 19. They said the floragraphs helped spread the message to donate life around the world.
