A 25-year-old Lake Charles man wanted for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in metal products is now in jail.

Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to Hwy 3059 last week in reference to a burglary, according to Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey. The suspect fled in his vehicle once deputies arrived and a pursuit ensued. Deputies say Steven Sean Willis fled on foot into a wooded area at the dead end of a road in Calcasieu Parish and escaped arrest.

Willis allegedly stole $6,000 in metal pipes, pipe fittings and other items, stated Ivey.

He was arrested over the weekend by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies on the Jeff Davis warrant.

Ivey says Willis be extradited tomorrow.
