Kathy Bobbs, CEO of Women’s and Childrens, dies at 59

Kathy Bobbs, the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Regional Health System of Acadiana, Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Lafayette Surgicare, has died at the age of 59.

Bobbs died Saturday, according to her obituary on the Martin and Castille Funeral Home website. 

As of this morning, the obituary and arrangements for Bobb were incomplete. As soon as we receive this information, we will update this story. 

According to Bloomberg, Bobbs had served as the Chief Executive Officer of Southwest District at Acadiana since August 2007. She served as Chief Executive Officer of Southwest District at Louisiana Hospital Association. She served the Chairman of the Board at Louisiana Hospital Association since September 2012 and served as its Trustee.

She also served on the board of the United Way of Acadiana, and on the board of the Louisiana Hospital Association. She served as a delegate to the American Hospital Association, and was a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and has served on the Governor’s Workforce Investment Council representing healthcare for the State of Louisiana since 2008.

She held bachelor’s degrees in nursing and psychology, and a master’s degree in health services administration.
