Vermilionville has several events planned to celebrate Earth Day on Sunday.

The Living History Museum & Folklife Park will host festivities from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Admission to the event is free, thanks to Cox Communications, the presenting sponsor.

Events include crafts and activities for kids, yoga class, canoeing, a clothing swap and a clothes & jewelry fix-it cafe. There will be tree give-aways, discussions, food demos and music from Cedryl Ballou & The Zydeco Trendsetters and the Lafayette Rhythm Devils.

The restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman will be available, and you can also purchase a ticket for a boat tour of the river.

Another activity is the “Bike to Earth Day” Poker Run. Check-in is set for 10:30 a.m. at Hub City Cycles and the ride begins at 11 a.m. ending at the Earth Day Celebration for 2 p.m. Vendors will offer playing cards, and whoever has the best hand will win prices. Cost for the Poker Run is $10 per person, which covers insurance.
