Next week, visitors to the Rosa Parks Multi-Modal Transportation Center will have to pay to park.

A new pay by plate station is being installed and will take effect Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

The “pay by plate” machines allow motorists to purchase parking time by using their license plate number. It will accept cash, coins and cards. The minimum time you can purchase is 30 minutes, with a maximum of several hours.

The parking on Cypress Street, as well as the first two rows of the Rosa Parks parking lot will remain free – for customers of the U.S. Post Office.
