A man accused in a triple shooting that happened in 2016 has been convicted.

A release from 16th Judicial District Attorney Bo Duhé announced that David Javon Arceneaux, 24, was convicted of three counts attempted manslaughter, one count attempted armed robbery and one count distribution of marijuana.

Arceneaux was accused in the December 2, 2016 shooting of three people from Pineville. The victims allegedly drove to New Iberia from Pineville to buy marijuana. During the transaction, Arceneaux robbed one of the victims and fired gunshots at the vehicle the three were riding in. All three were hit by bullets.

Arceneaux was convicted by a jury after a two-day trial. Assistant District Attorney Nicole Burke prosecuted the case.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Arceneaux on July 11, 2018. He faces up to 49 years in prison.
