Police and Sheriff’s deputies are working a situation in the Youngsville area, which has caused at least one school to be placed on lockdown.
Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy was on lockdown because someone in the area told a friend he planned to hurt himself. When deputies responded to the address the person fled the area in the direction of the school, stated John Mowell, spokesman for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The lockdown was precautionary, Youngsville Chief Rickey Boudreaux said.
We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
