Woman honored with oldest living resident title in Carencro dies at 105

The oldest living resident of Carencro has died according to the Carencro Police Department. 

Ozeta Carmouche Wood who marked 105 years old last year died Monday at Evangeline Oaks Guest home in Carencro. In October 2017, Mrs. Woods was honored at a city council meeting with the title of oldest living Carencro resident. 

"What a joy it was to sit and listen to some of her stories. Mrs. Wood certainly be missed by all that friends and family," the Carencro Police Department said of her passing.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro for Wood. Interment will be in Our Lady of Assumption Cemetery in Carencro.
