The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office says they have apprehended an escaped work release inmate from West Baton Rouge Parish in Amelia.
Deputies say the inmate was located the vehicle he was traveling and attempted to initiate a stop. According to deputies, 39-year-old Jeremy Blackburn allegedly didn’t pull over when deputies attempted to stop him. He then lost control of the vehicle before driving into a ditch on Duhon By Pass Road.
Blackburn was arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
