The organizers of PLAYday – a Family Fitness Expo and Summer Activities Fair – are still accepting applications for vendors who want to showcase their fitness-related products or summer camps and activities for kids.
PLAYday is scheduled to take place Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of the Kids Specialty Center, located on the Women’s & Children’s Hospital campus at 4600 Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
More than 30 area organizations annually provide information on summer camps, demonstrations and other activities for Acadiana children to help them have a happier, healthier summer. Other presentations include family-oriented pastimes, healthy snacking and eating habits and better alternatives to sodas and heavy-sugar drinks.
PLAYday is presented by Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) and Women’s & Children’s Hospital. The event is free and open to the public. Snacks and water will be available at no cost.
There is no cost for vendors to register to participate in PLAYday; however, some fees may apply for rental of tents, tables and other items. The deadline for vendors to register is Friday, April 27.
