The city of Patterson has announced an Interim Police Chief. During a ceremony Tuesday morning Officer Janis Merritt was sworn in as interim chief. The most recent chief, Patrick M. LaSalle, retired in March. Merritt will serve as interim chief until the end of the year.
An election to decide the new chief will be held in October.
