A meeting was held today to kick-start Councilwoman Liz Webb-Hebert’s efforts to get Lafayette bus stops covered.
"With less than 10 percent of our Lafayette Transit System Bus Stops covered. I am partnering with local businesses, churches and community leaders to get these bus stops covered," the City-Parish Councilwoman writes on her Facebook page.
The aim is to have shell covers at each bus stop, so bus riders will have shelter from the fickle Louisiana weather.
It costs about $6,000 for each stop, and groups can split one, she says.
