A family in Opelousas lost their home during the severe weather that swept through parts of Louisiana this morning.
The house is located in the 200 block of Deville Road.
Patricia Deville says she and her husband were about to eat breakfast between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. when they heard the wind take away their roof and porch. As a result, it started to rain inside their home.
Deville says she devastated, and the feeling is familiar. She’s lost a home before due to inclement weather.
Fortunately, Deville has the help of her neighbors as they prepare to repair the house.
The family is staying in their motorhome while they make repairs.
