Wednesday, Carencro High School students got a crash course in driver safety and may now have a better understanding of the dangers our driving.

The "No Fear, No Future" mock crash today was used to give the teens a realistic taste of what not being fully alert behind the wheel could mean.

This program, put on by the Junior League of Lafayette, includes not only drinking and driving but the dangers of phone distractions like texting. Acadian Ambulance, Lafayette PD, Lafayette FD, Guy’s Towing, Fountain Memorial, Coroner’s office, State police were all on hand to create a realistic crash scene.

A second day of the program will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Carencro High.

"Junior League of Lafayette is really excited and really committed to this program. we see the impact that it makes. We hear from faculty. As long as schools want to have us, and as long as we’re able to make that impact, we definitely want that opportunity," said Corinne Sprague, President of Junior League.
