Carencro Police arrested a local teenager this week, after they allegedly found drugs in the car he was driving, along with vacuum-sealed cash in a hidden compartment.
MIchael Mallett, 19, was pulled over for a traffic violation, then the officer discovered there was an active warrant for his arrest. The officer arrested Mallett, then smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle, so it was searched. They allegedly found a pound of pot, 37 grams of cocaine, MDMA pills, and pot packaged for sale, police say. They also allegedly found $2,288 in cash, vacuum sealed and stowed in a hidden compartment, police say.
Mallett was booked with:
- Speeding (94 MPH in 70 MPH Zone)
- Careless Operation
- Possession w/ Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Marijuana)
- Possession of Schedule I (MDMA)
- Possession w/ Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Cocaine)
- Possession of Schedule II (Adderall)
- Possession of Schedule II (Hydrocodone)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds
A passenger in the vehicle, 21 year old Cayman Rhae Voorhies, also of Carencro was arrested for Possession of Illegal Narcotics w/ the Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She posted $1,500 bond and was released, records show.
Mallett’s bond was set at $100,000 and he remains in LPCC, records show.
