Lake Charles Police arrested a local man Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly stole a car and led officers on a chase that ended with three separate crashes.

Cody Davis, 27, was booked with Obstruction of Justice, Aggravated Flight from an officer, Possession of a stolen Firearm, Possession of stolen things, Hit and Run, Careless Operation, No Driver’s License and Parole Detainer.  He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, with no bond yet set for his release.

Officers were called to the area of Lake and West McNeese streets Tuesday afternoon to investigate a complaint of a stolen vehicle. As they got to the scene, they saw the stolen vehicle northbound on Lake Street, a spokesman said. The officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the drier drove away, traveling east on Sale Street.

The stolen car then turned north on Ryan Street, and drove at a high rate of speed, hitting two cars, and then hit a third car near the intersection of Ryan and Eddy Street, the spokesman said. The chase ended there, he said.

One of the drivers of the cars the stolen car struck was transported to the hospital with injuries, the spokesman said.
