Eunice Police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the accidental injury of another child on Easter Sunday.
Tristen Romero, 17, was booked with negligent injury and illegal use of weapons.
He’s accused of accidentally shooting another child while the two were talking on a porch. Romero had a .22 caliber handgun, and was "twirling" the gun on his finger. While he was doing that, the gun allegedly went off, shooting the other child in the leg.
The victim told police that, after he got shot, Romero wanted him to shoot Romero back, also in the leg, and kept trying to get the victim to take the gun, police say.
