State Police say they are investigating a Trooper involved shooting that occurred last night in New Orleans.
Troopers say that an on-duty trooper was sitting in an unmarked unit when another dark-colored vehicle pulled up alongside the unit. State Police the trooper discharged his firearm after a male subject exited the dark-colored vehicle and attempted to enter the police unit. The subject quickly returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, according to troopers. The incident occurred on Broadway Ave. at Green St.
The subject was later located on foot. No injuries to either the trooper or the male subject were reported as a result of the incident.
Troopers say the driver of the vehicle is still at large. Charges are pending for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
