The Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency held a ceremony to raise awareness on organ donations.
Thursday a ceremony was held at Women and Children’s hospital where LOPA representatives along with family of donors and recipients spoke on the importance of donating.
A flag was raised outside the hospital will fly throughout the month of April to raise awareness for the need of organ and tissue transplants.
According to Women and Childrens’ Hospital, nearly 2,100 people in Louisiana are waiting for transplants that could save their lives.
