The Scott Boudin Festival is just days away. The festival is scheduled to kick off Friday night at 5: 30 with the opening ceremony.

The festival draws in thousands of visitors each year, to the boudin capital of the world. The city sells up to 2 million pounds of boudin each year.

"That’s how we became the boudin capital of the world, because the six boudin vendors here in Scott produce the most boudin per capita in the state than anywhere else," organizer Daniel Noel said.

Organizers say this year you can expect good music and of course boudin, cooked in different ways. A free shuttle service is also available.

"We have a free shuttle service from the park in Scott and also from the commercial park near Holiday Inn on the interstate and campgrounds. As long as you’re in those areas and you go over to those two points the shuttle will pick you up and and bring you right to the entry gate."

The festival also thrives on volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering or want more information on the festival visit scottboudinfestival.com
