The U.S. Postal Service’s National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will hold their nationwide annual food drive for local food pantries on Saturday, May 12, 2018.

The Rotary Club of Opelousas Sunrise is collaborating with NALC members to make this 2018 food drive a success. Postal workers and community volunteers will pick-up non-perishable food items left by mailboxes and return the food to the Opelousas Post Office, where Rotary Club members and volunteers will unload the food and deliver it to the food bank.

To help, put non-perishable food items in a bag by your mailbox on Saturday, May 12. Any non-perishable food items (but not home canned items) in the original packaging are welcome. In addition to canned goods, high protein and fiber items like dried beans, rice, canned meat and peanut butter are especially needed.
