Visitors to the city know it’s festival season in Lafayette when the Festival International flag is waving above city hall.

Tuesday, The City of Lafayette and Festival International de Louisiane members raised their flag and are inviting you to do the same.

Festival organizers say hanging the flags around town are a way to support the non-profit. Festival International is one of the largest international music and arts festivals in the United States.

"All of Festival International is community driven that means we depend on sponsors, volunteers and everyone who comes and helps, but also our merchandise sales including these flags. It is really cool to see it go up and we hope y’all will check it out, get you one and fly it high," said Carly Viator Festival Marketing Specialist.

The 5-day festival is held in April in downtown Lafayette. The festival is celebrating 32 years. The music starts April 25-29, 2018.
