A Shreveport man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured two people at Grambling State University.

Louisiana State Police say that shortly before 1:30 a.m., the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations was requested by the Grambling State University Police Department to investigate a shooting that occurred at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

Troopers say that during a gathering held at the Assembly Center, two people became involved in an altercation. During the course of the altercation, 19-year-old Princeston Adams of Shreveport allegedly produced a firearm and shot a another man twice in the chest area.

As GSU Police Department Officers responded to the gunfire, Troopers say that one of the officers was struck in the leg while attempting to break up the altercation. The GSU Police Department Officer and the shooting victim were transported to a local hospital. The officer received non-life threatening injuries while the male subject remains in serious condition.

Adams has been booked on two counts of Attempted 2nd degree Murder. He is being held at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
