Lafayette Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday.
Police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Starlight Drive. Investigators say a homeowner interrupted someone attempting to break into his vehicle; the suspect alleged brandished a firearm and the homeowner shot him.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he's in stable condition. Police are working to confirm his identity, and this is an active and ongoing investigation.
