UPDATE: Lafayette Police have more information on the crash that critically injured someone around 1 a.m. on Thursday.
The crash happened in the 1600 block of West Pinhook; police say a female was traveling southbound on an electric scooter when they were hit by a vehicle that also was traveling southbound. Then another vehicle hit the scooter rider, and fled the scene; and then a third vehicle hit the scooter rider.
The person on the scooter is listed in critical condition at a local hospital. The driver of the first vehicle that hit the scooter blew .225 on the breathalyzer. The driver of the third vehicle blew a zero. The first driver, Dakota Wagoner, 36, of Lafayette, was booked with DWI and negligent injury.
In Louisiana, the DWI law requires that you have at least 0.08 BAC. Wagoner allegedly blew 0.225 BAC.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and they'll update us with more information as soon as they can.
