LAFAYETTE, La. — A local teacher recently made it to the finals of America's Favorite Teacher and needs help winning the contest.
Cherryl "Cricket" Ortego is a Special Education teacher at Northside High School in Lafayette.
If she wins the contest, she will be featured in Reader's Digest as well as an assembly at the school with Bill Nye the Science Guy.
