UPDATE: Lafayette Police say that, as of 4:15 p.m., I-10 eastbound is back open to traffic.
Earlier Friday, Lafayette Police were on the scene of a crash that had closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the University Avenue exit.
Lafayette Police say there was a major accident, with the road was blocked by vehicles involved in the crash.
Only minor injuries were reported, police say.
