Lafayette voters reject library tax renewal

Lafayette Parish voters rejected the renewal of a 3.12 mill property tax that supports the library.

Fifty-six percent said no, compared to 44 voting to approve the extension.

The tax raises about $8.8 million annually for the library's operations.
