UPDATE: The person found near Corinne Street on Thursday has been identified by the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office as Franklin Randall, Sr., 43, of New Iberia.
Last week, NIPD told us that they got a call about a welfare concern or possible medical emergency at the home, and when they arrived they found Randall dead in his home.
Louisiana State Police are handling the investigation, NIPD tells us.

New Iberia Police are investigating a homicide Thursday afternoon.
The death occurred in a home near the intersection of Corrine and Robinson streets.
