The New Iberia Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Christmas Eve.
The incident happened on South Weeks Street, near it's intersection with Crowson Street, around 8:30 p.m. on December 24.
Detectives were called to the scene and are actively investigating.
"The other party involved has been identified. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the events that led up to the incident," a release states.
