Lafayette Police responded to a shooting at 1am in the 600 block of Hammond Road.
According to police they received a call about shots fired in the area.
When police arrived they said they found a woman with several gunshots wounds. The victim, identified as 47-year-old Leslie Tolliver, was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
