Last year, Share Care USA was able to collect over 400 blankets to hand out to the elderly across Acadiana.

They hope to surpass that goal in 2020.

"They need that extra level of warmth during the winter season," Kat Crappel, marketing director for Share Care USA, said. "Honestly, year round is best too. The best about teaming up with these other organizations is that they're in the homes with the Meals on Wheels program. They're seeing the need, first hand, of the people that may be in need of a blanket."

This year, because of the Coronavirus, organizers ask that the donated blankets be new.
All Covid-19 guidelines will be followed during the drop-off of the blankets.
