NEW IBERIA, LA — A family in New Iberia area said that Tropical Storm Barry caused roof damage to their home on Saturday.
The family said they were watching KATC-TV 3's wall to wall coverage when a front beam flew off their house. The beam caused a part of the roof to collapse.
Homeowner Landon Williams acted quickly to put the beam back and to patch up the roof. He said he is worried that the wind will blow off his efforts to protect his home.
His wife, Andrea Williams, said they have heard reports of downed trees in their neighborhood.
