EUNICE — The Eunice City Council agreed to repeal an ordinance that allows the city to run its own library system

Until tonight, two cities have been part of the Opelousas-Eunice library system since the parish doesn’t have its own system. They’ve shared the cost of operating the libraries.

Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot says they fund $154,000 to the library as a whole., which is 40% of the operations. Fontenot wants to use the money saved by having their own library system for other projects within the city.
