The U.S. Coast Guard Station New Orleans said they rescued a mariner in the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet Friday morning.

They said that after receiving a call about a man in distress, a crew was sent down through St. Bernard Parrish. The area was just beginning to flood during the rescue.

"Bravo Zulu to the crew of the 29237 for working together and completing the mission!" they said in a Facebook post.
