Load in the money, double tap at the vendors and enjoy. That’s what Festival International hopes its attendees will do with the return of wristbands.
Sponsored by Iberiabank, the wristbands are back again this year to make it easier for patrons to buy food, drinks and officials Festival International merchandise.
Festival says these wristbands will provide for faster transactions, shorter lines, and less risk of losing a wallet or purse.
Festival International says the RFID wristbands will function as a pre-paid account. Officials say that purchases will be made by double-tapping the wristband at vendor locations. The amount spent will automatically be deducted from your account balance.
Once the funds run out, the account can be “topped-up” again by either signing up for the Auto-Top feature during wristband registration or at any Top-Up station on Festival grounds.
Any unused money will be refunded back after Festival. A $5 processing fee will apply
Those interested in purchasing a wristband can do so at Parish Ink in Downtown Lafayette.
