VILLE PLATTE, La. — A search is underway for an escaped inmate in Evangeline Parish.
Braylon Johnson, 25, escaped from the Ville Platte City Jail just before 11 a.m. Sunday, August 10, 2025, according to Chief A. Perry Thomas.
Johnson was arrested on July 29, 2025, for charges of domestic abuse, aggravated battery, and child endangerment. He also had a bench warrant out of St. Landry Parish, authorities say.
Chief Thomas asks that if you see Johnson, call 911 to make a report.
