Summer is knocking on the doorstep and it will certainly start to feel that way during the next couple of days!

Heavy thunderstorms developed just to the north of Acadiana through Wednesday while lighter showers made their way across the region.

These showers should begin to taper off as we head through Wednesday evening and into the overnight time frame. Clouds should remain in the area overnight with lows dropping into the low to mid 70s.

The warmer temperatures will be back on Thursday as southerly flow returns to the region. This will increase our humidity and dare I say heat indices through the day on Thursday. Highs will top out in the upper 80s close to 90 but it will feel more like the lower 90s.

Friday appears to be another warm and humid day with marginal rain chances at 20%. Rain chances will increase significantly through the weekend and for the better part of next week as we will likely be dealing with a tropical monsoonal flow across the region. We will continue to monitor how the pattern evolves in the days ahead.

In the tropics: All is quiet in the tropics with no development expected in the next 5 days.
