The 10th annual Student Arts Expo will take place this weekend in Downtown Lafayette showcasing all types of art created by students in the Lafayette Parish School System.

Scott Brazda was LIVE at Acadiana Center for the Arts in downtown with more information on the expo and what visitors can expect.

The Expo begins Saturday, April 13* at 10:00 am with a parade led by the Northside High School Marching Band.

Following the parade visitors to Downtown will be able to experience art created by students from across Lafayette Parish. The expo will continue until 8:00 pm as part of Downtown Lafayette’s April Art Walk.

ACA and LPSS pair schools with businesses to host visual arts exhibits and performances that last throughout the day.  The event gives the public a chance to view about 100 visual arts exhibits and many performances that include dance, music, theater, and poetry slams.

On Wednesday, April 10 an “Arts and Education Roundtable” will be held at 6:00 pm at ACA.

The event is free to attend and will include performances, hands-on art activities, and a student artist market where guests can purchase student art.
