Cupcakes will rule this coming Saturday as Mix It Up will be one of more than 40 locations for supporters of family fun and of Healing House’s 11th annual Family Adventure Day.
“When people come in for Family Adventure Day, they get to experience our business as well as do something for healing house,” says Mix It Up owner April Sins. “So, it works well together.”
Family Adventure Day is indeed a ‘win-win’ for local businesses and attractions.
The Aveda Institute and Hershey’s Cookies are back allowing adventurers to express themselves by getting a mohawk or decorating a delicious cookie.
And also ready to welcome Adventure Day visitors is long-time favorite Big Boy Toys. A must stop from many who take part in the program, owner Jeremy Truxillo says Big Boy Toys is ready to give to such a great cause.
“Family Adventure Day is always a lot of fun. It exposes a lot of new people to some of our toys, but it also benefits a great cause,” says Truxillo. “Healing House is a great organization, and we love to give back.”
Another ever-popular location is Clayfish Bisque where you can break out your creative side and paint a tile, and show it off, too.
Considering a brief jaunt into the ‘performing’ arts? Make a stop by Wonderland Performing Arts. They supply the costumes, and all you need to bring is yourself, ready to show Acadiana your star potential. All in the spirit of fun, of course.
