Acadiana Animal Aid Director Heidi Paterson and adorable senior dog Emma joined GMA this morning to talk SOLA Giving Day and Senior Pet Adoption.
Animal Aid is home to many senior pets who are looking for homes where they can live out their final years. The shelter says that older pets make wonderful family members and great additions to any home.
One way to facilitate the continued rescue and adoptions, according to Paterson, is to give during SOLA’s annual Giving Day on Thursday, May 9.
Paterson says that they have already received a lot of support from the community through donations to the shelter. Animal Aid’s SOLA campaign is focused on raising money to provide veterinary care to their shelter animals. The veterinary team at Animal Aid are in need of surgical packs which can run about $1,500 apiece, according to Paterson.
All funds donated to Animal Aid through SOLA’s Giving Day will go towards supplies for the many medical and surgical needs of homeless animals in Acadiana.
