The Junior League of Lafayette is putting on the beloved annual holiday market, Tinsel and Treasures, differently this year.

For the first time ever the event is a full two weeks long and it's gone virtual.

"Junior League of Lafayette dot com will have a page with all of the merchants that you know and love and more on our tinsel and treasure page. Each merchant will have their contact information, where you can go and click on their website and shop! But the fun way to shop is going to be through your phone on our Facebook groups," explains JLL President Melanie Fowler.

The Facebook group to join is Tinsel & Treasures 2020 Merchant and Shopper Group. It's totally free and open to anyone, and once you're in you can interact with merchants.

"The merchants will be posting their items, pictures, videos, sales... So all of the people shopping can see oh wow I really like that! And then go to the website of that merchant and purchase it," says Fowler.

You'll find everything from clothes to snacks to gadgets to home décor. You'll also find a link to a raffle with prizes like $10,000 cash and diamond earrings.

The Ladies Night event will be virtual as well. The $100 package comes with wine and some treats as well as an hour-long virtual session with a sommelier.

Supporting Tinsel and Treasures is supporting all of the good facilitated by the Junior League of Lafayette.
"We are committed to two things. Volunteering in our community as well as training women for leadership roles. So all of the money that is raised at tinsel and treasures goes back to do those things," says Fowler.
